Fallback

A fallback manuever allows a brigade to open up it's defensive firebases into the town it currently occupies, by giving up the armybases in that town.

Fall back rules have changed as of 1.27.

Fallback is refused if the CP:

  • is holding at all costs
  • is already in mid fallback
  • is neutral
  • is not a defend objective for your side
  • does not have a link to a friendly town
  • is not contested (at time of the request)
  • [uncontention should not *stop* the fallback if accepted]
  • does not have an Open Link (see below)
  • one or more brigades would be unable to fallback
  • does not know which brigade is attacking it

An Open Link requires:

  • linking depots are open and belong to your side,
  • no enemy firebase on the link
  • remote armybase owning the linking depot belongs to your side and is open

Once the fallback is approved there is a "warning" interval before the fallback is executed. Only the enemy should be able to capture during this interval.

When the fallback executes, all military facilities have their ownership changed to match the country of the brigade which initiated the attack objective.

TOE fallbacks differ from 1.26 fallback like this:

  • ALL military facilities are surrendered, not just armybases.
  • After surrender the radio table of these facilities should still be visible if the town is contested
  • From fallback -> retake should be half the time it was in 1.26 as a result

Detailed steps

  1. The CP must be Contested.
  2. The fallback is issued by the HC. A white flag will appear on the map, but the fallback has not yet occurred. If the CP is uncontested prior to the FB's coming up, then the fallback will be aborted.
  3. Ownership of the AB's and control of the CP changes hands, and the defenders FB's come up.
  4. 10 minutes after the change of control, the AB can be re-captured by the side that issued the fallback.
  5. Once the ABs are capped, a brigade can be moved back in.

Clarification needed: Does the fallback cause the brigade to automatically "free move" out of the CP, or does it have to be moved prior?
