TAKING OFF
From Battleground Europe Wiki
Taking off in an aircraft is not always as easy as you expect, largely because of realistic physics applied to aircraft.

Steering on the Ground (Taxiing)
Steering on the ground can be difficult. Your left and right wheel brakes are mapped to Z and X by default. The / key will lock/unlock your tail wheel (when unlocked it can skitter about more and turn faster, you want to lock it for take off).
Depending on the plane, you often need to apply right aileron and right or left rudder as well to get rolling straight.
Remember to throttle up very gently to avoid the effects of torque.
