Talk:Grenade à main offensive mle 1915
From Battleground Europe Wiki
Model confusion
Webs, the model we currently have in the game, since the infantry weapons redo, is the OF mle 1915. The main difference with the later model is that mle 37 has a flat bottom. The reason is simply that the Rats could get had plentiful references for the OF 15.
Also, the OF mle 1937 was meant to replace the OF mle 1915 (which remained prevalent), not the F1. I'm unaware there was a successor to the F1 in the defensive hand grenade category (which was seen as completely different from the offensive grenade), and I am not keen to believe it used the same smooth shape instead of a conventional pineapple shape like the F1. Boum
Don't blame me, I didn't write this one. :)
Actually, French grenades was the one article no one wanted to do. None of us knew anything about them.
You;re right of course. Here's a good page: http://members.shaw.ca/dwlynn/french/frenchguide.htm
The F1 definitely is a pineapple.
I've edited this to keep what we can from the Of 37 stuff. Please go over it again to see if it's right.
(How do you get that sig line to show up and identify your talk posts?)
- Webs, simply type four tildes (~), like this: ~~~~. Cool heh? Pachy 15:48, 20 February 2007 (CST)
