Vista
From Battleground Europe Wiki
Running Battleground Europe on Vista often requires a few minor tweaks for it to run optimally.

Run as Administrator
The game actual has two components: Battleground Europe and Playgate. BE is the game and Playgate is the game-launcher. Vista users have found that it is usually necessary to run both components in Administrator mode. You can do that by selecting the programs below, right-clicking them, and selecting "Run as Administrator".
- C:\Program Files\CRS\Battleground Europe\ww2.exe
- C:\Program Files\CRS\Battleground Europe\ww2_x86.exe
- C:\Program Files\CRS\Battleground Europe\ww2_SSE2.exe
- C:\Program Files\Playnet\Playgate\PlayGate.exe
Things to try if you encounter a problem
Update Video and Soundcard drivers to latest official releases
This is important because there are still a few odd Vista-driver issues out there, that we cannot fix for you.
Use x86 version.
In the Settings program in your \BE\ folder, uncheck the SSE2 box.
Disable NetCode2
In the in-game Settings tab, under Preferences, uncheck NetCode2.
Screenshots, Logs and CFML folders
All user-specific files, such as screenshots, error logs, your config file (wwiiol.xml) and keymapper files (CFML), are now located at:
- C:\<user>\Documents\Battleground Europe
Training Server
Unfortunately, at the moment, Vista users much create a shortcut to access the Training server.
Please visit the Shortcuts page for instructions on doing this.
In the future, the Training server will just be a separate instance(s) on the main server.
