In 1934 the French introduced the 25 mm SA mle 34 as a replacement for the outdated 37mm infantry cannon mle.16 TR. Despite its small caliber, the 317g AP round had impressive performance out to 600m range and had a very high Muzzle Velocity.

Game Play

The 25 mm SA mle 34 (the “Samel 34”) is an average quality tank gun but with a couple of very redeeming features. Like most AT gun it fires very flat, but the Samel 34 has in-sight range adjustment, meaning that if you can pre-set the range, you can duel confidently at ranges out to (and past) 1000m, exceptional for such a small caliber gun. Therefore, don’t hesitate to start shooting at long distances; you may get the enemy tank to halt to try to find you while you relocate. It sits quite low on its mount, and is also quite stable shot-to-shot for tight grouping so feel free to pick your shots, particularly at smaller vulnerable spots on enemy tanks like driver slots and gunsights. Unfortunately there is no HE round for the gun, so if engaging an enemy prime mover, try to hit the wheel hubs to cause a flip or roll – otherwise surviving infantry will be hunting you down very quickly.
