1.37.5.0 (31 October 23)

Introducing the Higgins Boat, manned by the Navy (from deep water ports) to move troops for more accessible Naval invasions! We've also provided new deployable bailey bridges to give engineers and battlefield commanders to change the landscape of battles.

We've also greatly improved sounds for some aircraft, added more props/PPOs and tons of bug fixes. Finally this update includes several roadmap deliveries aimed at improving our visual upgrades as we work toward the future of WWII Online.

Features

  • Added Aomercy and Mikeaz to the Fallen Soldier Memorial
  • Updated 3D models and textures (Roadmap Deliveries):
    • CA mle 1938 AA Gun
    • ROQF 6 Pounder AT Gun
    • The Laffly S20 SPAA and Bedford OY SPAA have had their 3D guns updated
  • Higgins Boats (LCVP) have been added which can deploy Higgins boat Mobile Spawn PPO
  • Higgins Boat Mobile Spawn PPO can also be deployed from Freighters
  • Depots have been added to deep water ports to allow for deployment of Higgins boats
  • Bailey Bridges have been added as new PPOs, deployed by infantry
  • A new podium PPO has been added to some infantry classes
  • Bombers that have manually operated bombay doors now have a Bomb Doors status added to their info HUD
  • Some airfields have had the trees removed from the end of runways
  • RDP factory buildings have been updated

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed the StuG 3G gunner not deploying when multicrewed
  • Corrected the issue causing the Churchill 5CS to be immune to satchels and panzerschrecks
  • Numerous fixes applied to the Wellington, bad textures, broken bombardier's alt/speed gauges, loadout text, etc
  • Decreased fuzing time on PaK36 APHE
  • Updated a broken 2lber AI at Ramsgate AF
  • Corrected an issue with the new Opel's windshield
  • Fixed rider seats on the new Laffly
  • The M4A2/3 and Damiler scout car have been updated to fix an issue that allowed them to drive with dead engines
  • Fixed a few areas that didn't allow for foot step sounds
  • Corrected an issue not allowing access to the Ju88's bombardier's position sometimes
  • Found and fixed a visual anomaly on the Sherman Firefly
  • Updated all Light SPAA damage models
  • Fixed a floating building at Zerf
  • Corrected typo in ballistic coefficient of .50 BMG tracer rounds making them abnormally slow
  • Removed FMBs from from being targeted by AI HE firing guns ONLY, MG nests and towers will still engage

1.37.4.1 (14 August 23)

This hotfix is aimed at addressing a number of issues that affected a few of the newly released models.

Bug Fixes

  • Various visual anomalies with the newly introduced models have been addressed, including:
  • Fixed a couple of modeling issues with the Flak 30 & Flak 38, including both guns going invisible beyond 60m
  • British 2 pounder floating optics has been fixed
  • M3 ATG twitching and shaking when under tow has been fixed
  • Riding position orientation has been adjusted so riders are properly oriented on the seats, this affects the standard Opel Blitz, standard Bedford, and standard Laffly
  • Driver view point for looking back (numpad .) has been adjusted for all Bedford variants
  • Gunner and commander scaling issues fixed in Opel SPAA and Bedford SPAA
  • Slightly lowered Driver view for all Opel variants

In this release, we remember additional fallen soldiers, bring in the first of the WWII Online 2.0 3D unit updates and many more updates along with numerous bug fixes.

Features

  • ARCHAEUS has been added to the Fallen Rats Memorial
  • Hogan99 and Schollen have been added to the Fallen Soldier Memorial
  • New 3D models have been created for these units:
    • Opel Blitz (normal, supply and SPAA versions)
    • Bedford (normal, supply and SPAA versions)
    • Laffly (normal, supply and SPAA versions)
    • FlaK 30 AA
    • FlaK 38 AA
    • QF 2-pounder AT
  • Ricocheting rounds have been added back into the game
  • When an RDP facility (factory) is damaged, your side will be notified by a System message to help with knowing when factories are being hit
  • Similar to boats and ships, bombers will now receive an "Enemy aircraft spotted at x o'clock" text alert from their gunners
  • A few RDP facilities (factories) have been moved to new locations:
    • Breteuil (French)
    • Leeuwaarden (German)
    • Dortmund (German)
    • Enschede (German)
  • Horns have been added to numerous vehicles (use the fire key to activate)
  • The "ding" sound that appears during training has been updated
  • Engine fire special effects have been updated
  • Anhee now has a capable small bunker
  • New Towns have been added to the game:

Fixes

  • Corrected the bright textures on the C-47 to match the other textures
  • Fixed the texture issue causing Depot flags to appear dull
  • Bomb drop sounds have been boosted in order to be heard over the roar of the engines
  • Resized the Sdkfz 251's engine to be more historically correct
  • The continuous clicking sound while on the Squad tab is now fixed
  • The hitmap on these units have been fixed:
    • M21 Mortar Carrier
    • Laffly W15 TCC
    • Sdkfz 25110b SPAT
  • The barbed wire on some walls has been updated to allow for firing through it
  • Adjusted the Allied and Axis Mortar Carrier commander's view controls
  • Terrain fixes:
    • Floating building in Tongeren
    • Texture brightness has been fixed on multiple buildings
    • FMB spawning location in Sheerness is now fixed
    • Verdun East AB vehicle spawning locations fixed

This release brings to the game numerous updates and fixes that range from a Fallen Rat Memorial to numerous Wellington fixes.

Features

  • Added a new Fallen Rat Memorial, near the Triumphal Arch in Brussels
  • Jokerred, Hogan99 and TeeShot have been added to the Fallen Soldier memorial
  • Attack Objective (AO) numbers have been adjusted
  • Loadout functionality has been updated to allow for more flexible loadout options
  • The Ju88 now has a third loadout option
  • The Ju88's loadout option #1 gives the bombs to the pilot, the secondary trigger will drop the bombs
  • The frequency at which capture timers are checked for adjustment has been quickened
  • Cap timer adjustment based on population is now based on the spawned population
  • The A13, A15, M10, Pz38t and Vickers has had their 3D crew members updated
  • Visual effects (VFX&SFX) updates:
    • Tank and ATG Armor Piercing (AP) impacts 75mm and up
    • Tank, ATG and Naval High Explosive (HE) explosions 75mm and up

  • The Ju88's defensive guns have been updated to historical movement ranges
  • The Wellington has had numerous items cleaned up
  • The Sdkfz 7/2's gun shield is no longer impenetrable
  • The M3 Halftrack and Sdkf251c driver's hitmap has been fixed
  • Corrected and issue allowing for AB sandbags to be clipped

1.37.2.0 (11 Apr 23)

This release introduces some long awaited additions to WWII Online that include the Wellington medium bomber, Proximity AOs, Squad Missions, Custom IVC channels and much more to include bug fixes.

Features

  • The Wellington Mk III has been added to the Royal Airforce (RAF)
  • Nine (9) new factories have been added to the Axis side: Zwolle, Meppel, Hoogeveen, Harlingen, Limburg and Frankfurt
  • All Allied factories have been combined for RDP purposes, bombing one factory will affect all Allied resupply times
  • Bomber Loadouts have been re-added to the game
  • Proximity AOs have been introduced:
    • Towns with Heavy Inf EWS will trigger AOs
    • If Heavy Inf EWS is lost, the AO will be removed
  • Squad Missions have been added:
    • The Squad must have five (5) members online in order for Squad Missions to be available
    • Only one (1) Squad Mission per side, per Squad
  • Ten (10) Custom IVC channels have been added per side (see your HC for channel assignments)
    • Only applies to channel 1-10
    • Follows the F6 text chat channel (must be assigned to 1-10)
  • IVC now shows CRS members with all CAPS as represented elsewhere
  • Players can now adjust their in-game volume from within the IVC map tab
  • Fuel Barrel PPOs have been added to Supply Trucks
  • Planes, Vehicles and Boats/Ships can now be refueled:
    • Planes - Airfields & Airfield PPOs (can also re-arm)
    • Vehicles - Army Bases, Supply Trucks (can also re-arm) and Fuel Barrel PPOs
    • Boats/Ships - Docks (can also re-arm)
  • Fuel burn rates have been adjusted to be more historical in order to keep in line with our map size
  • All Sherman, Churchill, Pz4 and Tiger tanks have had their 3D model crew members updated
  • Free to Play (F2P) aircraft now have a different look than other versions
  • The gun audio for Hurri IIBs has been updated
  • Barrage Balloon PPOs have had their max damage updated in order to be harder to destroy
  • Gun Emplacement PPOs have had their proximity to other objects changed to stop blocking
  • The STG44 now has updated audio
  • All SMGs have had a recoil audit
  • All standard and limited SMGs have had their pistols removed and ammo amounts adjusted
  • Bombs have had their whistle sounds updated
  • Grenade explosion effects have been adjusted
  • New effects, audio and visual, have been added for 500kg bombs
  • The HCMSP PPO has been added to the HC Officer class
  • The HCMSP PPO's 3D model has been updated
  • Csm308 has been added to Bunker interiors and has a City CP named after him
  • Lille, Calais and Antwerp now have different versions of a Star Fort
  • A well has been added to Ooltgensplaat
  • Verdun has had a Crypt added to its surrounding area
  • A barn has been added to the vicinity of Tienen and Reusel
  • A damaged airfield has been created at Martlesham for initial introduction
  • A causeway has been added north of Moerdjik
  • AI MG Towers and Bridges have had their textures updated to appear more weathered
  • Removed four bridges around Piesport
  • Barbed wire has been added to the top of Armybase walls
  • Mooring points and crane rails have been added to urban harbors
  • Added three new Airfields to the UK: Gravesend, Southend and St Mary's Pitt
  • Added stairs to the garage of the Spawn buildings
  • Murder holes in Armybase walls were reduced down to two
  • Fourteen (14) new towns have been added: Fismes, Bouvancourt, Cerny-en-Laonnois, Bourg et Comin, Braines, Vailly Sur Aisnes, Chavignon, Soissons Les petit, Soissons, Port Fontenoy, Ooltgensplaat, Val de Livres, Reusel and Crucifix


Bug Fixes

  • The Delete all Waypoints and Contact Reports bug has been fixed
  • Corrected an issue when some units that was causing extra-long despawn times
  • Fixed an issue with some areas missing train tracks
  • Fixed an issue that caused multi-crewed units to not report stats properly
    • Multi-crewed units will now be forced to re-initiate the multi-crew join process after each mission
  • The Ju88 has had a few bugs repaired:
    • Reversed rudder pedal movement
    • Hard to read speed and altitude indicators
  • SPAA 20mm gun audio has been fixed
  • Added missing FBs between Orbeval and Clermont-en-Argonne
  • Muzzle smoke has been reduced to help with visibility after firing
  • Engine fire effects have been updated
  • Adjusted FB tents to correct an issue that caused infantry to pop up above the FB tents
  • Adjusted footsteps sounds so they aren't so loud
  • Adjusted tank track sound volume
  • Fixed and issue that was causing some Mac clients to crash while the game was loading

  • Terrain tiles around Paris have been fixed up
  • Dover, Bergen op Zoom and Calais are now enlarged
  • Some river barriers have been moved under water with buoys added to mark them
  • Some in game Manuals have been updated
  • Genobrst has been added to the Fallen Soldier Memorial
  • A few new props have been added: Row Boat, Submarine, Aircraft Carrier and Swordfish
  • Double ponds with a creek and bridge have been added to Sittingbourne
  • Factories from Amiens and Abbyville have been moved to Rouen and Rouen East

Audio & Effects

  • Sound effects audio has been equalized across all units and weapons, this may require players to adjust game audio volume in preferences
  • All new special effects have been added
    • Create longer lasting VFX for artillery rounds that have no fireball
    • Create individual SFX for artillery HE shells
    • Create mortar specific VFX
    • Improve muzzle smoke VFX on tank main guns
    • Improve fuel fire VFX
    • Improve engine fire VFX
    • Improve frag grenade VFX & SFX
    • Create new bomb explosion VFX & SFX
    • Create new bazooka explosion SFX

Fixes

  • Secondary "Hurricane" kill bug fixed
  • Fixed the bug that caused some building to disappear during town captures
  • Motorized Mortars can now shoot beyond 2,150m
  • Repaired the Beauvais-Poix-de-Picardie FB
  • Fixed the unkillable Stuart driver
  • The AB Barracks buildings now have a damage model

Features

  • Lobby voice radio channel for general comms and choosing sides
  • Side voice radio channels active when no mission has been selected (Separate Axis, Allied channels)
  • Mission radio channels (side unique) becomes primary radio channel (whether spawned or not)
  • Squad voice radio channel for dedicated squad ops (always available)
  • In-game 3D voice chat providing attenuated and directional positional-based voice audio
  • Configurable key mapping
    • Cycle through available voice channels
    • Transmit on selected voice channel (PTT)
    • 3D voice activation (talking)
    • Temporary IVC Disable (Mute/Deafen) for tense moments
