Overview & Game Play
There are two Engineer classes in game. the Combat Engineer and the Engineer. The Combat Engineer is meant for offensive work blowing Forward Bases and taking down Mobile Spawns.
The Engineer class is more defensive oriented, building PPOs and repairing AI Defenses.
Combat Engineer
The Combat Engineer (CE) is the soldier tasked with the heavy building and demolition duties on the battlefield. They are equipped with a rifle, four HE and smoke grenades, four HE satchels and a combat knife. In the game, the Combat Engineer can do the following:
- Damage and destroy Forward Base, bridges, and other structures by placing explosive satchels on them.
- Place a range of Player Placed Objects including sandbags, ATG emplacements and the foxhole.
Except for two extra smoke grenades, the engineer is no better fit for battle than an ordinary rifleman. Since the combat engineer is the only unit that can destroy FBs, you should try to avoid combat whenever possible to save them for when they're valuable.
Engineer
Engineers are equipped with a rifle, four HE and smoke grenades and a combat knife. they also carry four repair kits. In the game, the engineer can do the following:
- Repair bridges and AI defensive emplacements using their repair kit.
- place a range of Player Placed Objects including foxhole, trenches and Barbed wire
The engineer shouldn't be treated as a combat class.
